Many men worry about the impact diabetes will have on their sex life. Research shows a vastly unmet patient need. The ADA 2025 Standards of Care now recommends screening men for erectile dysfunction (ED). Dr Zac Seidler, American Institute for Boys and Men, believes a reorientation and sensitization to the needs of the male demographic could increase the success in supporting men to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors. This session reviews: 1. How socialization, stereotypes, and norms of masculinity impact men’s behavior, 2) Delivering Gender-Responsive Care- Enhancing engagement, motivation, and retention of the male client, 3) Leading a discussion on how healthy lifestyle behaviors can prevent /treat /reverse ED.
