Diabetes management is challenging for “young adults” (YAs) (ages 18-30) living with diabetes. Few clinically validated and tailored resources exist for this population. To address this gap, four online education modules were developed that focus on key aspects of diabetes care: mental health, sex, relationships, and technology. This session walks through the DREAMS-YA Study (Digital Resource Hub: Education and Management Support for Young Adults with Diabetes) which explored the impact and relevance of the modules on glycemic metrics, diabetes distress, and self-efficacy. Attendees will gain insights into the unique learning needs of YAs and learn how incorporating tailored resources can improve quality of care and positively impact outcomes for young adults with diabetes.
