Obesity is a medial condition that impacts many people with diabetes. Obesity intervention is part of DSMES. Consequently, diabetes care and education specialists are in a position to bring the best in two interventions at the same time. The synergies between obesity and diabetes treatment present opportunities and challenges in providing patient-centered care. This presentation will address the most recent standards of care for corresponding conditions and align it with DSMES accordingly.
